SUBMERGE Marine Science Festival – Pier 84 From Hudson River Park: SUBMERGE brings marine science to life as we learn about NYC’s coastal waters from our River Project team and more than 30 regional STEM experts. This interactive science festival invites the public to explore water topics through awesome experiments, kid-approved entertainment and much more! Hudson River Park’s River Project is committed to advancing public awareness and understanding of our connected waterways. SUBMERGE aims to inspire and make marine science and STEM accessible and engaging for everyone; we look forward to welcoming science lovers of all ages to take part in the fun! Weekend Public Oyster Research Station Monitorings – Valentino Pier ORS Hub Join Billion Oyster Project's effort to restore New York Harbor by volunteering to collect data on the health of the oysters at one of our Oyster Research Station Hubs. During this event, you’ll assist our team in collecting scientific data, meet some of New York Harbor’s most interesting marine creatures, and enjoy a beautiful day on the waterfront! Billion Oyster Project Scy-posium – Governors Island From the Billion Oyster Project: Billion Oyster Project hosts an annual Scy-posium as an opportunity for community scientists, artists, and advocates to showcase their research, learning, and other projects related to local waterways of New York Harbor. The Scy-posium Poster Session and Networking Happy Hour is an in-person event, hosted on Governors Island, where community scientists can present their work and network over light refreshments. Projects may include, but are not limited to: art, design & engineering, scientific research, advocacy, environmental justice, and more. Scy-posium presenters include community participants, community-based organizations, and university students. Join us as we celebrate the amazing work being produced by members of the New York Harbor community! This event is open to all. |
