An overview of shipwrecks off the Jersey Shore with Dan Lieb
Dan is a certified scuba diver having attained a divemaster certification. He has logged over 2,300 dives to date. This includes rescue dives, an important certification to hold in the field.
He has a love for maritime history in the state of New Jersey. For more than two decades he has spent countless hours researching and identifying shipwrecks off the coast. This avocation, coupled with his diving and technical illustration background has allowed him to participate in 30 archaeological expeditions throughout the region. He has mapped well over twenty wreck sites and created illustrations of them for archaeological reports for both state and federal agencies.

The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore left six construction workers dead after a massive cargo ship collided with the bridge on March 26, 2024. Captain Joseph Ahlstrom, a professor at SUNY Maritime College, will discuss what happened and how we can learn from this tragedy.
